PaPRIKa

The PaPRIKa toolbox is a collective project developed by the UMR EMMAH and supported by the SNO Karst, the Sorgues Basin Joint Association and the PACA region.

PaPRIKa is a multi-criteria method for mapping the vulnerability of karst aquifers (Dörfliger and Plagnes 2009, Kavouri et al. 2011). Its implementation requires the analysis and cross-processing of several layers of spatial data, under GIS software (Dörfliger et al 2012, Marn et al 2012, Marn et al., 2015).

The PaPRIKa plugin for QGIS allows a step-by-step application of the method steps to generate the Protection (P), Infiltration (I), Reservoir (R) and Karstification criteria. (Ka) as well as the vulnerability index obtained by crossing these 4 criteria. The use of the plugin:

  • relieves the user of certain technical aspects of data processing,
  • allows a quick, easy and standardized application of the PaPRIKa method,
  • let the user focus on the work of hydrogeological expertise.

The PaPRIKa toolbox is available from the official QGIS release (version 2.14 or later).

To download the PaPRIKa plugin :

  • Launch QGIS
  • Extensions> install / manage extensions
  • Search: PaPRIKa toolbox> install
  • An icon appeared on your dashboard, just click on it to open the toolbox.
  • The user manual is available from the plugin’s Help menu

Do not hesitate to send us your comments by email or leaving a message on the project page.
